Next thing I knew was lying on the floor, eyes closed and my head in a bulk of clay, into which luckily I crashed when I fainted in a heavy attack of asthma.⁠⁠

I‘m always glad, when people see different narrations in my sculptures. Especially in THE WALK.
Its not one single narrative I want to convey. But I‘m aiming for a narrative potential.
I’m always curious whatever story you may see. That for me is one of the most precious aspect of art itself.

Have you ever seen „Dead Man“? The Jim Jarmusch Picture? You should. If only for the rough score by Neil Youngs Old Black.

In this movie I came across William Blake’s famous quote: „The eagle never lost so much time as when he submitted to learn of the crow.“
And since then I used it occasionally. At least in my mind, cause as a matter of fact, quotes are very persuasive. That‘s why they are quoted.

But looking at this picture, I feel reminded again that the opposite is mostly true as well. Maybe the eagle in fact can learn something from the crow.
